LMP Education would like to congratulate Lilly Harrison, a Level 3 Early Years Educator from Small Wonders Manchester for winning Apprentice of the Month! Here is her story:

“I chose this programme because I was interested in being a childcare practitioner and felt this programme would give me the practical skills and knowledge to succeed.

I decided to go through the apprenticeship route because I prefer having a more practical learning style and developing skills from day 1 rather than learning through theory.

The main benefit of an apprenticeship programme is the fact that it helps you gain real life work experience, developing practical skills and earning a qualification at the same time.

I most proud of how much confidence has gone up and passing my English exam. I feel that it shows how much I have developed both professionally and personally throughout the programme.

The best thing about my role is learning new skills and being able to help children with their development.

During my apprenticeship I’ve been supported by my employer through providing on the job training, guidance and opportunities to develop my skills and my tutors have supported me with motivation, coursework and feedback.

The most important skill I’ve developed is confidence – this is vital as it helps me work effectively with colleagues and provide a high standard.

After I finish my apprenticeship programme I would like to continue development in the current place of work. I want to build on the skills and experience I have gained. I am excited to do this.”

Vicki Osborne, Lilly’s LMP Tutor said: “Throughout her apprenticeship, Lilly has shown remarkable resilience and determination, steadily working to overcome her fear of public speaking.

Her commitment and bravery have now culminated in successfully completing and passing her SLC exam — a truly transformative achievement. This milestone not only represents her academic success but also a profound moment of personal growth, enabling her to finally attain her Level 2 English qualification.”

Well done Lilly and best of luck on your journey!
