LMP Education would like to congratulate Mackenzie Chameberlain a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner at Rhyme Time Rushden for winning Apprentice of the Month!

Mackenzie chose this apprenticeship pathway as she wanted to start a career in childcare. She enjoys her placement very much and stated that the best thing about her programme is “spending time with the children.”

For Mackenzie, the biggest benefits of an apprenticeship programme are the qualification and learning about children needs. When asked about the most important skill she has learned in her programme she highlighted safeguarding and “keeping all children safe.”

After completing her apprenticeship Mackenzie hopes to go and volunteer in Africa.

Vicki Osborne, Mackenzie’s tutor has said:

“Mackenzie has shown significant resilience and determination throughout her journey towards achieving her English Functional Skills Level 2 qualification. At the beginning of the process, attendance was inconsistent, and there were occasions where appointments were missed. This initially led to some challenges in our working relationship, including moments of frustration on both sides. However, through open communication, honesty, and mutual commitment, we were able to rebuild a positive and productive rapport.

Following this turning point, Mackenzie demonstrated a notable shift in attitude and engagement. She committed to attending additional sessions to catch up and showed genuine effort in addressing gaps in her knowledge.

The Speaking and Listening component presented a particular challenge, as public speaking can be especially daunting for a young person. Despite feeling nervous and lacking confidence, she persevered and faced this fear with courage. Although she experienced disappointment after initially failing the Writing exam, she did not allow this setback to define her progress. Instead, she channelled that disappointment into renewed determination, putting in increased effort, attending further support sessions, and actively seeking feedback to improve her work.

Today, Mackenzie achieved a well-deserved pass in her Writing exam. This accomplishment reflects not only academic progress but also personal growth in resilience, maturity, and self-belief. The journey has strengthened her confidence and demonstrated her ability to overcome barriers when she remains focused and supported.

It has been incredibly rewarding to witness her development. The positive relationship we have built is a testament to the trust and mutual respect established over time. I am confident that this achievement will have a lasting impact on her confidence and future progression. She should feel extremely proud of herself for the persistence and commitment she has shown in reaching this milestone.”

Well done, Mackenzie, best of luck in the future!
