Welcome to National Apprenticeship Week! This week we will be spotlighting apprentices from across our programmes to share their success and highlight achievements. Today we are sharing the story of Gayle a 58-year-old School Staff & Wellbeing Champion from The Waterloo School.

Gayle chose this apprenticeship programme as she thought it would be relevant and helpful in her role as a School Business Manager saying, “the knowledge gained would enhance my practice.”

The fact that this apprenticeship programme could be taken while continuing her regular role at the school was a huge benefit for Gayle as she explains “the biggest benefits have been the support and the opportunity to learn something that can be directly applied to the work that you do.”

Gayle shared her appreciation to her LMP tutor Jade Dumbell saying “Jade has been amazing!  She is clearly very knowledgeable in her subject but also in ways to deliver that knowledge tailored to how I learn.  Her communication is clear, she always gets back to me timely and is a great help when I am struggling.  She takes time to check that I am okay, that I understand what I am being asked and will always offer additional ideas and resources. She is a credit to LMP.”

Looking into the future Gayle is confident her apprenticeship will enhance her current work saying she is looking to “continue to support staff, parents and children at school with the knowledge I have gained on the programme.”

Best of luck in the future Gayle!
