Welcome to National Apprenticeship Week! All throughout this week LMP Education will be sharing stories from our learners across all programmes. Today we have Fiona, a 53-year-old Teaching Assistant apprentice from The Stables School.

Fiona first applied for this apprenticeship programme as she wanted to gain further knowledge in her field of work.

In her programme she benefited from the ability to learn as you earn as well as the support of a tutor saying “the biggest benefit has been learning and working at the same time and having an understanding Tutor to help with queries”. Fiona is supported in her apprenticeship by her employer and LMP tutor Sammie.

Fiona enjoys the variety of her work and said that “no two days are the same”. This combined with the flexibility of working while learning made this course ideal for Fiona.

An apprenticeship programme helps learners develop a number of important skills, when it comes to Fiona, she has said that the most important skill she’s gained is “the ability to prioritise my workload and work within deadlines”.

The future for Fiona is wide open, and she is excited for what’s to come after her apprenticeship programme concludes.

Best of luck in the future Fiona!
