It’s the most important week of the year, National Apprenticeship Week!

This week we will be sharing stories from our apprentices sharing successes and celebrating achievements. Today we will be sharing the story of Kerry Parr a Teaching Assistant apprentice from Haydock Outwood Academy.

Kerry chose an apprenticeship route as a way to expand her knowledge and further her education.

Kerry is dedicated to her students, saying the best thing about her role is “to see the improvements the students make and to be able to help them.”

Throughout her apprenticeship Kerry has been supported by her work mentor and LMP tutor saying “the tutor is always there if I need any help”.

Her Teaching Assistant training has exposed Kerry to further knowledge as she explains “I have learnt more about learning difficulties, how to support the students and the signs to look out for.”

After her apprenticeship Kerry hopes to continue on to a Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification.

Best of luck in the future Kerry!
