The prospect of gaining work experience whilst also learning really appealed to 29-year-old Teaching Assistant apprentice, Sanchia Mulheran.

“I wanted the experience of working a job and also learning. I want the chance to learn about subjects in more detail. You’re able to actively practice the things you learn, and this helps it stick with me.”

Sanchia is only at the beginning of her apprenticeship at Alexander McLeod Primary School however has already had the opportunity to complete new and exciting tasks:

“I’ve only been on my apprenticeship for 3 weeks but have already had the opportunity to work with 2 different classes. I have managed to support a dysregulated child and help him develop his writing skills. I feel so much pride in this.

I’ve felt really welcomed and never feel embarrassed to ask anything. The other Inspire apprentices who work here have made me feel so comfortable and have offered to help me if I need anything.”
