This qualification provides an ideal taster for people who may be new to the sector or new to the world of work. This NCFE course is accessible to those of all ages who may want to understand more about working in health and social care. It aims to introduce some basic concepts of caring and preparation for employment in the sector. Course Available in Greater London Area (GLA) Only.

  • Principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care Knowledge.
  • Principles for implementing duty of care in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings Knowledge.
  • Understand the role of the social care worker Knowledge.
  • Understand person-centred approaches in adult social care settings Knowledge.
  • Understand health and safety in social care settings.
  • Understand how to handle information in social care settings.

LEARNERS NEED A LAPTOP OR COMPUTER TO ACCESS THIS COURSE.

  • You must currently live in the Greater London Area (GLA). If you live in GLA you must evidence you have permission to remain here for the next 365 days.
  • You must be over the age of 19 or older (on 31 August 2024) and be able to fully commit to this course.
  • You must have the relevant ID to register for this course (passport, visa/permit, birth certificate or driving licence and proof of address within the last 3 months).
