As part of our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility LMP Group encourages our staff to volunteer within their communities. One team member that volunteers regularly is Gary Punt, a Teaching Assistant Tutor who volunteers with his local scout group. Here is his story: 

“I’ve always enjoyed volunteering as I find it rewarding. It is also distracting – thinking about games and activities is a lot better than dealing with daily stresses.   

I’ve been a volunteer previously at other scout groups, but due to family commitments, I stepped away from scouting. Last year, I was asked to become a leader again and return to scouting as a Cub Leader, as the group would close without more volunteers, so I stepped up and started running the section. 

Volunteering is extremely important. Charities are struggling for volunteers so to help a cause is a great achievement. 

If you are looking to start volunteering find an interest and then research opportunities within it, there will bound to be some volunteering opportunities around.”
