LMP Action Wraps Up Successful Easter Holiday Camp in Hammersmith and Fulham

LMP Action has just concluded a vibrant two-week holiday programme for children and young people in Hammersmith and Fulham, providing a safe, supportive and engaging environment during the Easter break. The initiative was proudly funded by the Holiday Activity and Food Programme and the Youth Service Programme on behalf of Hammersmith and Fulham Council.

The camp welcomed young people aged 8 to 16, with a focus on keeping participants safe, active and well-fed while school was out. This Easter, each week was themed to offer varied and dynamic programming that catered to all interests. The first week took young people “around the world,” while the second celebrated the power of “storytelling.”

Participants rotated through three core activity zones each day: Creative, Challenge and Sports. These zones were designed to build vital life and social skills, helping prepare young people for everyday challenges and opportunities beyond the classroom.

A highlight of the first week was a special Rowathon event held in collaboration with Noise Academy. Young people took part in the challenge to raise funds for LMP Action’s Christmas Hamper Appeal. Together, they rowed over 300,000 metres and raised more than £1,000, showcasing teamwork, determination and community spirit.

The camp hosted 60 young people daily, reaching a total of 94 unique participants over the holiday period. LMP Action welcomed young people from a wide range of backgrounds, including those in vulnerable situations, ensuring every child had access to a safe and enriching experience during the school break.

In addition to the engaging activities, the programme also focused on tackling holiday hunger. Over the two weeks, 1,214 nutritious meals were served, ensuring every young person had access to quality food throughout their time at camp.

Crucially, the programme was free for families. Based on figures provided by Coram Children’s Charity, the initiative helped local families save a combined total of £32,881.20.

LMP Action continues to champion inclusive and impactful programming that supports the wellbeing and development of young people across the borough.
