LMP Group is proud to encourage volunteering and community engagement with its employees as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. A shining example of volunteering is Claire Halliwell, an ASF tutor at LMP Education, who volunteers regularly with her local community. Here is her story:
“I volunteer locally supporting vulnerable adults, mainly elderly, in my local church’s community programme.
I spend time there at least once a month, but this is ongoing, I sit and have a chat with people who feel alone. I also support them by getting things from the shop for them or I go with them to the shops. At Christmas and other times of the year I also deliver wellbeing parcels and flowers from the church.
This started out during the COVID-19 pandemic with an aim to support those that could not get out and were vulnerable and it has continued since then. I thought about my own grandparents and how I would not want them to feel alone.
It is always good to help others, especially those that are lonely or vulnerable. I always think about how I would feel in that situation.
I would highly recommend volunteering to people. Speak to your local church or community centre to see what is on and where you could help.”
Well done, Claire, what an inspiring story!
