As part of LMP Group’s continues commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) we encourage our employees to volunteer and support their community. Claire Halliwell is an ASF Tutor at LMP Education who regularly volunteers with her local Scouts group in Croston. She shared her volunteering story with us:
“I volunteer weekly as Akela for cubs every Tuesday evening for 2 hours but also spend a couple of extra hours in the week planning activities and speaking to parents. I also do extra activities on occasional weekends at least once a month doing activities such as bell boating, kata kanu, dragon boating, rock climbing and more.
I started coming to the scouts when my child started as a beaver and wouldn’t stay alone, and I stayed in scouting even after she left. I chose to volunteer in the scouts because it was local and meant something to me as it was education for children.
Volunteering is amazing, it gives you a good feeling to help others and it is great to see the confidence that it gives to other people. It has also improved my mental health.
If you are thinking of volunteering, I would say just go for it! Find something that you are passionate about and ask what you can do to help.”
Well done for your hard work Claire!
