As part of our ongoing commitment to our communities, British Values, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), LMP Group encourages its employees to take part in local volunteering opportunities.
Beverly Emmett is the Alternative Provision Manager at LMP Action who volunteers regularly at Roadwater Community Trust. Here is her story:
“When I moved from the city to the country, I wanted to help my local community, which is more than a place that I live, it’s where I belong. Living in a rural location presents so many challenges, and it just feels right to help where I can.
I support the Roadwater Community Trust with several business support functions such as Payroll and HR, as well as Bookkeeping and Banking. I also volunteer in the Community Shop and am part of the dial a ride car share scheme that helps people attend appointments as we have no public transport available to them without a 3 mile walk to the main road. Additionally, I help organise community events such as the Summer Fete, Big Breakfast and Social Events
I have always volunteered, just like my parents did, and it was just the norm, because you gain a lot if you give a little. I highly recommend volunteering to anyone. There are so many things that you can do, it may be a cause that you have direct links to or a hobby that you can share – everyone has something to give – I would encourage everyone to just go for it and before you know it, it’s just the norm!”
Great work Bev, you are in inspiration to us all.
