Sophie, aged 21, successfully completed her Early Years Educator apprenticeship at Braywich Court School, a primary school located in Maidenhead. She has a strong passion for working with children and recognised that completing the apprenticeship was a significant milestone in her journey.
Here is Sophie learner journey:
‘Previously I have been working in retail but realised it wasn’t for me. I knew I wanted to do a job working with children as this really inspired me. I had been volunteering as a scout leader and I loved working with the children and knew it was a career I wanted to pursue. An apprenticeship seemed to provide the perfect opportunity to work and learn. I applied for an Early Years role so I could learn on the job and found it very helpful to put what I learnt into practice within a school setting.
There are lots of benefits of doing an apprenticeship, including gaining hands-on experience and receiving continual guidance, support and feedback.
In my job role, every day is different and has different challenges so I am always learning new skills. I also love working with the children and families and supporting the children’s learning and development and its very rewarding watching them grow and develop.
The support from LMP education has been amazing. I have been supported every step of the way by my tutor Scarlet. She is always available whenever I had a question or needed some advice and she ensured I was fully prepared for all my end-point assessment. She has helped me reach my full potential for which I am very grateful.
The team at Braywick has been so welcoming and supportive. My line manager made sure I had everything I needed to complete my assignments and gave me advice and answered any questions I had.
I have gained so much confidence from completing my apprenticeship which has allowed me to deliver the best practice I can by working effectively with parents/carers and my colleagues.
I have been offered employment in the school I am working in doing the job that I love. I couldn’t recommend the Early Years Educator apprenticeship route more highly!’
