HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY WORKING DAY
I make sure I have a good night sleep every night so I wake up feeling refreshed and ready for another day at work.
I also make sure I have a positive mindset before going to work.
TASKS I DO IN THE MORNING
I get the nurture room ready for the day and also set up the sensory room. I prepare work for two young people that we have in the nurture room that day.
I support mainly the nurture room and PG lessons.
MY WORK COLLEAGUES
I work alongside amazing teachers and other support staff.
LUNCH BREAK
I have lunch in the staff room, it’s lovely, and gives me the chance to catch up with other staff.
AFTERNOON TASKS
I mainly support the nurture room and PG lessons. I spend time with young people who are in the nurture room whether it be supporting them academically or with their emotions. When I’m not needed in lessons I’ll either see if any other classrooms need support or I’ll do some preparation or help any teachers with their resources.
BEST PART OF THE DAY
I love every part of my day, as it’s always different. The staff and young people always make my day fun and exciting.
APPRENTICE TOP TIPS
Don’t be nervous for an apprenticeship, it is amazing and so educating. You will be supported by some amazing staff throughout your whole time. The programme is great and I would highly recommendi it.
SUPPORT RECEIVED
My tutor is absolutely fantastic, he has done nothing but help and support me from the start of this apprenticeship. He has checked in regularly to make sure my placement is going well and if I have any issues to let him know. He makes sure I’m looking after myself and thinking about my wellbeing.
FINISH TIME : 3:40pm
