Welcome to National Apprenticeship Week! To celebrate our amazing apprentices this week we will be sharing stories from across our programmes spotlighting learners and celebrating successes. Today we are sharing the story of Bethany, a 22-year-old SEND Teaching Assistant apprentice from Outwood Academy.
Bethany decided to start an apprenticeship programme as she wanted to become a teaching assistant saying, “I really want to become a fully qualified teaching assistant and help support SEND students in schools.”
In her apprenticeship Bethany saw the benefits of learning while working a job as she explains “it helps you learn and develop skills.”
Bethany is passionate about her work and supporting her students saying the best thing about her role is “supporting students with additional needs and knowing that I am making a difference to their education.”
Throughout her apprenticeship Bethany has gained many important skills, and she has stated the most important one is “I have learned that it’s important to take constructive criticism, so I know how to best improve.”
After her apprenticeship programme ends, Bethany would like to continue on with her education moving up to a Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant programme.
Best of luck in the future, Bethany!
