On Thursday 10 April 2025 LMP Action in collaboration with the Noise Academy hosted a Rowathon to raise money for families in need. The money raised will go towards two initiatives, Noise Academy’s CIC to provide free music workshops for young people and creating Christmas food and activity Hampers for vulnerable children and young people across the UK.
In the event the teams rowed a combined distance of 300,000 metres (the equivalent of rowing half the length of England). Staff from across LMP Group took part and were joined by a number of young people from the Easter Holiday Camp at Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith. It was a super energetic day with the children tag teaming to ensure everyone took part and supported the event. Music and inspiration were supplied by the DJs from the Noise Academy, who also delivered session on how to DJ.
The teams were able to exceed their target and raised over £1000 towards the causes. Natalie Glasby, Head of Programmes at LMP Action said “What an event the LMP Action with Noise Academy Rowathon was! The tunes were pumping, and many miles were covered throughout the day. Thanks to everyone that came along and those that supported us from afar. It was great to see our young people giving back and getting involved to make sure we hit our target. What a wonderful atmosphere and the fact we raised over £1000 towards our Winter Hampers was just amazing!”
Louise Lear, Programme Manager at LMP Action said “The Rowathon was a fantastic day that truly highlighted the power of coming together to support others. Alongside our dedicated team of rowing volunteers, we had 60 young people taking part, rowing, engaging in activities, and showing incredible resilience throughout. I was so proud to see their energy and commitment to help us reach our donations target. A big thank you to everyone who rowed, donated, and cheered us on!”
In 2024, LMP Action prepared and delivered 1000 Winter Hampers to families in Hammersmith & Fulham with an additional 100 Hampers delivered to Birmingham. The funds raised during the Rowathon will go to support this year’s hampers and more.
