LMP Education offers apprenticeships in a range of areas to fit our learner’s career aspirations. One of our learners who made the most of her time at LMP is Carmen Allyssa Harper, a Level 3 Business Operations Administrator Apprentice at Pennine Education Limited. Here is her story:
“I wanted to find something that would be suitable for me. I have always wanted to work in a job either in a school or supporting schools. This inspired me to push to interview for this apprenticeship. Work is motivation for me as I love to be working.
I chose this path as you learn while you are on the job, so you are able to directly complete coursework. They go hand in hand with each other.
You boost your skills, knowledge and you receive a qualification which enables you to continue to achieve your goals. It also opens a lot of doors for you in the industry that you are in or want to go into.
I have been accredited by Arbor, so I can effectively support schools. I have completed 50% of my apprenticeship after just 4 months and started my practice mocks and receiving a distinction.
As I mentioned previously it opens lots of doors for you as you are communicating with people that are in the role that you are training for. It’s the start of an evolution.
My LMP tutor Veronique has been the most amazing tutor. She has supported me with her knowledge and gave me a better understanding of what I need to complete and how to improve. My line manager is extremely supportive and knowledgeable when it comes to my course. If and when I need help with coursework, or something work related they are always there to help.
I have learned to be more confident in myself and actually believe in myself. I think it is really important as without having a positive attitude you can’t expect a positive outcome.
As of this very moment I’m unsure as I’m giving myself time to get to know myself and see how my goals develop throughout my apprenticeship.”
