LMP Education provides apprenticeship support for both learners and organisations. Pennine Education Ltd is an Education Management Information Systems Support that provides MIS Support (Management Information Systems) to schools. In July 2025 it has taken on a Level 3 Business Administration apprentice with LMP Education for their MIS Support Team. Company Director Jonathan Howells has shared his experience in working with LMP Education:

“We decided to go with an apprenticeship pathway because we felt it provided a structured, cost-effective way to build skills within the company, in a way that directly supported our business needs.

We also felt that as a company, this was our opportunity to give a young person the chance to learn and gain a recognised qualification in a supportive business environment.

We also believe that because apprenticeships allow training to be aligned with a real job role that an apprentice would learn skills that are immediately useful to us, allowing them to make a positive contribution to our business almost straight away.

We have found the apprenticeship to be a totally positive experience.

Organising the initial paperwork and interviews with Suzie and Charlie from LMP was a really simple process.  LMP took care of everything making the recruitment process totally seamless.

Since our apprentice Carmen started in July, she has totally exceeded our expectations. Carmen has a bright and lively personality, with a proactive attitude.  She has brought a new positive energy to our office!

Since joining us in July, as well as carrying out her studies associated with her Apprenticeship to a really high standard and maintaining her work obligations, Carmen has also managed to obtain her Foundation Level Accreditation for Arbor MIS Support.  This is a fantastic achievement for someone new to schools MIS and has meant that she has been able to help with school support calls, having a positive impact on the business.

The main benefits of an apprentice to our organisation have been:

  • We believe that apprenticeships allow staff to gain practical, job-specific skills that directly support our Business Operations. Training is aligned with real tasks, so the learning is relevant and immediately applicable to the job role.
  • We also believe that an apprentice will help us grow our own future specialists and leaders. Instead of relying solely on external recruitment, we can develop people internally who already understand our culture and processes.

The Team at LMP have been fantastic. Charlie and Suzie have both been very supportive and knowledgeable, providing advice and guidance whenever we asked, which made the sign up and recruitment process very easy.

We have also found the LMP tutor assigned to us to be a great source of advice and guidance, keeping everything on track and within deadlines.

Everyone we have dealt with at LMP has been knowledgeable and supportive.

Our experience with our apprentice has totally exceeded our expectations. Carmen has a bright, lively personality and has fitted into the office environment really well.

Carmen is never afraid to ask questions if she needs clarification or extra support and has made a positive contribution to the business almost straight away. She is conscientious and has good eye for detail which means I have confidence in the work she is producing.

Carmen is very customer focused and has a great manner when dealing with customers on the phone and via email.

My advice to other businesses looking to get an apprentice is choose your apprentice provider carefully.  We have found working with LMP to be critical to the successful recruitment of the right candidate.

As an organisation we had looked at apprentices a few years ago but had decided not to proceed due to lack of confidence in the provider.

Additionally, during recruitment, make sure to clearly lay out what your expectations are from the apprentice and exactly what you are offering as an employer, so that you attract the best candidate and best fit for your role and organisation.”
