This month we are celebrating an incredible Apprentice of the Month. LMP Education would like to congratulate Harley Cronshaw, a Level 3 Early Years Educator apprentice at Little Tree Day Nursery, for winning this month’s accolade. Here is her story:
“I started my Level 3 apprenticeship after finishing my Level 2, as I’ve always wanted to make a difference in children’s lives and make sure they have a childhood where they feel seen and heard.
I chose to do an apprenticeship because of the paid learning. It was a great way to start getting onto the job market while gaining valuable experience at the same time.
The main benefits of an apprenticeship programme are being able to learn while getting paid and gaining experience. I also like being able to complete my work in my own time without having to attend set lessons.
During my Level 2 and Level 3 apprenticeships, I have been Apprentice of the Year and Apprentice of the Month. I have also grown in confidence and become a better practitioner.
The best part of my role is being a part of children’s childhood and being there to watch them learn and grow in development and personality.
My LMP tutor is absolutely amazing! She has gone to the ends of the earth to support me in any way possible. She is always there when I need support or have a question and is always really helpful!
The most important skill I have learnt is definitely confidence. I have grown in confidence in my workplace and I’m no longer afraid to get involved and do things that would have embarrassed me when I first started! This is so important because it shows me that I can truly do something if I put my mind to it.
It’s so important to have apprentices in Early Years settings because it gives young people a chance to get involved and gain the experience they need for the real world. Being an apprentice has taught me so much and I wouldn’t be where I am if I didn’t do my apprenticeship.”
Harley’s tutor Gemma said:
“Harley has overcome challenges with positivity, dignity and maturity. She always attends meetings with a positive attitude and a smile on her face; she is proactive in seeking advice for her work and she is well ahead of programme!
She responds exceptionally well to feedback and uses it to continually improve. Her submissions are consistently thoughtful, reflective, and tailored to her own practice, demonstrating both commitment and professional growth.
