Abbie, a Level 3 Business Administrator apprentice at Dental Dynamix has won LMP Education’s Apprentice of The Month award. This has come off the back of her incredible end point assessment results where she received distinctions across the board. Abbie has also been offered a full time role with her employer, which is great news. Here is Abbie’s story:
“I chose this apprenticeship programme as the qualification provides a variety of career options and I wanted to gain a qualification that I can use to further my career wherever I go.
I did not finish my A-Levels and was unsure which direction in life I wanted to go. After working in hospitality for two years, I decided I wanted a career change and to pursue an apprenticeship so that I could gain a qualification.
I feel the main benefits of an apprenticeship programme are the skills and hands-on experience you gain from working while learning. I think that being able to apply the knowledge you learn to real life situations within the workplace can help to develop your skills and boost your confidence to achieve long term success.
I am most proud of the confidence and the community that I have achieved during my apprenticeship. Before undertaking this apprenticeship, I felt I was missing something in my life and I didn’t feel very confident in myself. Throughout my apprenticeship I have been able to develop my confidence through the skills I have learnt and through positive feedback from colleagues. Additionally, I have made some amazing friends at Dental Dynamix, and they have supported me completely throughout the apprenticeship, I never imagined I could build such a community through this programme.
The best thing about my role is the variety of tasks and challenges that I face daily as they provide an opportunity for me to build relationships with our clients and always keeps me engaged. My role as business administrator has also placed me in a great position to be able to work closely with my colleagues to further the business.
My employer has supported me fully alongside my tutor throughout the programme. I want to especially thank my manager for always believing in me and for being someone I can trust and turn to whenever things are difficult or challenging. My LMP tutor has helped inspire confidence within myself and has ensured the learning is always clear to understand whenever I have been unsure.
The most important skill I have learnt is communication within the workplace. Our business handles some tricky and sensitive situations, and I believe communicating appropriately and based on each individual situation has helped to meet client needs in a positive way. It has also helped to improve working relationships within the business to ensure we are always putting our best foot forward.
I will be moving into a new role while being able to use everything I have learnt and gained. This new role involves more responsibility and new adventures in terms of opportunities and further learning. I am excited to embark on this new endeavour and am grateful to be able to work within the same company I completed the apprenticeship with.”
Caroline Bartholomew, Abbie’s LMP tutor said: “From day one, Abbie demonstrated exceptional dedication to her professional development. Her genuine enthusiasm for learning and eagerness to enhance her skills have made her an outstanding learner to work with. She consistently embraced feedback on her portfolio, actively seeking opportunities to be challenged and expand her expertise. Through her commitment and hard work, Abbie rightfully earned her Distinction grade!”
Congratulations on your amazing achievement Abbie, we wish you all the best in the future.
