LMP Education provides a range of programmes for Early Years professionals to develop their skills. One of our programmes, Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner, aims to support those working in leadership positions within early years settings.

One of our Level 5 learners is Georgina who works at St Judes CofE Academy, part of St. Chad’s Academies Trust after St Judes. Georgina started the programme earlier this year in an aim to sharpen her skills and enhance her career.

An apprenticeship pathway allowed Georgina to study while continuing to work, as she explains “I was already working within the field I wanted to study for, so the apprenticeship route was the best option.”

Throughout her studies, Georgina was able to develop a range of skills and knowledge “the main benefits are becoming more knowledge around legislation, key topics within early years and build my confidence as a lead practitioner” she said.

The apprenticeship programme has not only helped Georgina in developing her knowledge in the early years sector but helped her boost her confidence as she shared “I’m most proud of building my confidence and communication skills when it comes to professional discussions.” Communications skills are a key learning in the programme, as Georgina elaborates “these skills are important to help me when discussing with other professionals.”

Working in early years allows individuals to make an impact on a child’s life and development, as Georgina explains “the best thing about my role is having a big impact on the start of a child development and learning journey. Being right at the start of the journey with younger children means we as early years practitioners have the biggest impact.”

Following the completion of her programme Georgina is interested in exploring the route of becoming an Early Years Coordinator.

Well done Georgina and best of luck in the future!
