Hollie Molyneux is 27 and a level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant apprentice at South Wirral High School in Eastham. She decided to take the apprenticeship route as she wanted to start her teaching career working with children with SEN needs.

Here is Hollie’s apprenticeship journey so far;

‘I chose this apprenticeship programme because I have been passionate about teaching for years. I believe the Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship is the best way to get into this.

The main benefit of this apprenticeship programme is the constant support I receive from both my employer and my tutor, I also enjoy being able to learn whilst still being able to work.

The best thing about my role is impacting the lives of those I work with and seeing the benefits and positive outcomes of helping children.

My workplace employer is supportive and my LMP tutor Ria is always on hand to answer any questions and support me.

The most important skill I have learnt is how to recognise challenging behaviour, this is important as a situation can be dealt with before it goes too far.

The next step in my career is to go into teaching and have a higher role within SEN.
