This month we’d like to congratulate Sue Wiggett for being the LMP Education Apprentice of the month. Sue is currently doing a Level 3 Teaching Assistant SEND Pathway apprenticeship at Oasis Academy Warndon and she has shared her experience with us:
“I currently work as a SEN Teaching Assistant and I wanted to explore into more detail about SEN, and to show my passion of working with children. I was given the opportunity to increase my level of learning with SEN, because I was working in a school I thought why not take up this opportunity for more learning and this to help boost my confidence within the professional school setting.”
When discussing the main benefits of the programme Sue discussed how her apprenticeship helped to raise her confidence “my confidence is the main important skill, being able to build up this towards a brighter future in professional education.”
Sue was being supported by her LMP tutor Amy and her employer, saying “My tutor has been amazing, she explains everything in detail and is there when needing any questions answered. Also, my employer has also been amazing within helping me achieve my role further.”
Sue’s tutor Amy has said:
“Sue has been absolutely amazing and truly deserves to be recognised. Even while having an operation, she has shown incredible commitment to her teaching assistant apprenticeship and her Functional Skills. Balancing the demands of motherhood alongside her studies and Functional Skills, Sue consistently goes above and beyond expectations.
In her school setting, Sue’s impact is incredible. Her colleagues adore her, and her pupils thrive under her care and guidance. She has built such positive relationships, creating an environment where both staff and pupils genuinely appreciate her presence and contributions. Sue’s resilience, commitment, and ability to inspire others make her an outstanding role model, although I am sure she doesn’t see herself that way and she should!
Sue is an absolute credit to her school and her apprenticeship. Her resilience, positive attitude, and determination to succeed are genuinely inspiring. She has shown she can balance her responsibilities as a mum with her studies and work, which is not an easy task. Sue is not only dedicated to her own learning but is also committed to making a difference in the lives of the pupils she supports.”
Well done, Sue!
