LMP launches new HLTA SEND pathway programme

We are really excited to launch a brand new programme, introducing the Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with SEND pathway.

This programme is aimed at those who already work as a TA or SEND TA within a school and wish to further their career by progressing to become a SEND HLTA.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant SEND pathway  

Level : Level 4
Typical duration :  9 months (87 hours)
Training method : Online learning
Assessment methods : Blended learning, online and work-based sessions
Price : £550 (+VAT)

SEND HLTAs are important because they bring specialised knowledge and skills to the classroom, helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with special educational needs and disabilities. Their work is essential in ensuring that all students have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

According to the DfE’s 2020 publication, ‘Special Educational Needs in England’ approximately 15% of all students (age 3-19) had Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Of these students with SEND about 22% had statements or educational health care plans (EHCP). This highlights the growing need for support in the sector and the requirement for qualified HLTAs within schools.

This new programme extends the LMP commercial portfolio to include HLTA Level 4 and HLTA SEND pathway Level 4.
