Driving Performance & Improving Pedagogical Knowledge!
The Learning & Skills Teacher Level 5 Apprenticeship is fast becoming very popular, not only within the FE Sector but also within secondary schools. This is because the programme allows for a Teaching Assistant (TA) without a degree the ability to become a Teacher without the need to go to university.
We are not saying this is a replacement to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and all the hard work that goes into achieving QTS, however this is an alternative route into teaching. The level 5 apprenticeship offers someone the opportunity to progress from being a TA, further developing their knowledge, skills and behaviours to be able to deliver education and training to students on their own, and not as an assistant.
Secondary schools across the country are certainly seeing this as a viable option to address teacher shortages, by upskilling some of their TAs who are keen for progression.
LMP Education has worked in the education sector for many years and specialises in the delivery of apprenticeship training within schools. LMP works with several of the biggest multi-academy trusts including Oasis Community Learning, Ormiston Academies Trust and Outwood Grange Academies.
All teacher training programmes are tailored to the requirements of the trust, taking into consideration teaching methodology, culture and core values. The programme has 34 optional units so is very flexible. Our Curriculum Build Team will work with your Head of Quality to create a bespoke programme that ensures the content being delivered is linked to your policies and procedures. Our educational experts will also design monthly workshops which will focus on areas of weakness that have been identified within your quality improvement plan, helping to drive performance.
At the heart of the programme, each apprentice is assigned an educational expert who mentors them to improve their pedagogical knowledge, which in turn will further improve the teaching and learning within your school.
Here at LMP Education, we are also using the Learning & Skills Teacher Level 5 Apprenticeship to upskill a lot of our own tutors that don’t currently hold QTS. This forms part of our ongoing drive to improve teaching and learning for all of our apprentices.
To discuss joining one of our monthly cohorts (25 learners per month), or to create a cohort within your MAT, please email info@lmpeducation.org and a member of our team will get back to you immediately.
By being a part of this programme, learners will achieve:
- Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent
- Level 2 Safeguarding
We will also apply for QTLS for each achieving learner.
