We’re excited to announce the launch of Action Academy, a brand-new programme of one day workshops designed for young people aged 11 to 16.

This isn’t your usual half term offer. Based on feedback from young people themselves, we’ve created a programme that dives deep into one topic at a time. Each workshop is led by experienced professionals and gives young people the chance to learn something new, develop their confidence and have a great time in the process.

What’s different about Action Academy?
Action Academy has been developed in direct response to what young people have told us they want more of — focused, creative and hands on sessions that give them something meaningful to take away. That could be a new skill, a new idea or a new way of thinking.

Each workshop is completely free of charge, includes a nutritious lunch, and is designed to be both enriching and accessible.

This half term’s lineup includes:

Podcasting Masterclass with Dami Okeke
Led by broadcaster and producer Dami Okeke, this session gives young people a step by step introduction to podcasting. From coming up with ideas to recording and editing their own content, participants will learn how to use audio to share stories and messages that matter.

Storytelling and Creative Writing with Jordan Campbell at Dutch Pot Stories
Jordan Campbell is back by popular demand. His workshops are anything but traditional and always full of energy. This session combines creative writing and performance in a way that gets young people up on their feet and thinking about storytelling from fresh new angles.

Creative Arts Workshop with Joshua Obichere at Skin Deep Education
In this hands-on visual arts workshop, artist and educator Joshua Obichere invites young people to explore identity, culture and creativity using different artistic techniques. It is a space to experiment, express and create.

Boxing Workshop with Enzo Menafra
This session introduces the basics of boxing in a fun, focused and safe setting. With a strong emphasis on discipline, fitness and mental focus, coach Enzo Menafra creates a welcoming environment for young people to build strength and try something new.

Why Action Academy matters

We know that high quality, enriching activities outside of school can have a powerful impact on young people’s wellbeing, aspirations and personal development. By focusing each session on one topic, we are giving young people the time and space to explore their interests in more depth and to leave with something that lasts.

Our commitment at LMP Action

At LMP Action, we are committed to creating opportunities that support and inspire young people from all backgrounds. We believe in Alternative Pathways, Transformative Futures, and programmes like Action Academy are a key part of that mission. By working closely with young people and listening to their voices, we aim to deliver experiences that genuinely make a difference.

How to get involved
Young people can sign up for just one workshop or attend multiple sessions based on their interests. Spaces are limited, so early booking is encouraged.
