LMP is proud to celebrate another successful Summer in the City programme.
Delivered by LMP Action in partnership with Hammersmith & Fulham Council and Best Start in Life, the programme forms part of the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme, a Department for Education funded initiative that provides free holiday activities and nutritious meals for children and young people during the school holidays.
This summer, LMP Action supported 2385 young people in a wide range of activities, including:
- Horse care
- Hair and makeup masterclasses
- Sports sessions
- Creative workshops
- Build a Business with Rebel School
A particular highlight of the programme was the opportunity for young people to work with Rebel School, developing entrepreneurial skills and exploring how to turn their ideas into real business ventures.
The participants of Summer in the City also receive hot meals during the day. This year LMP Action provided 16,491 hot meals to vulnerable young people.
What makes this video especially meaningful is that it was filmed and produced by the young people themselves, giving an authentic insight into their experiences and showcasing the confidence, creativity, and skills they developed throughout the summer.
The HAF programme is about much more than keeping children occupied during the holidays. It provides free access to enriching activities, healthy meals, new experiences, and opportunities that help young people build friendships, confidence, and aspirations.
