Become an NHS Community Health Champion

This funded training programme offers staff within the NHS or healthcare setting the opportunity to learn skills to support the physical, mental, emotional and social health and wellbeing of those around them whilst supporting to build their resilience.
Individuals in this role will use a range of methods, and behavioural science, working with people to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence to tackle their own problems and challenges affecting their health and wellbeing.
Learn how to implement strategies and policies and to provide interventions that support health and wellbeing for individuals in the organisation or community setting.

This course is ideal for staff members whose main occupational focus is to support individuals and groups to identify barriers to their health & wellbeing and to signpost them to partner organisations to achieve optimal health & wellbeing outcomes. This programme enables the Health & Wellbeing Champion to use an evidence-based approach alongside partnership organisations to create a health & wellbeing focused culture within the NHS and community.

This standard provides the foundation for progression into a number of career paths in the health and science sector and/or sector-specific management roles.

Community Health and Wellbeing Worker Standard.

Care or service navigator, Community connector, Community health champion, Health trainer, Live well coach, Social prescribing link worker. Family liaison officer, Health & Wellbeing Officer.

The EPA comprises three components.  Multiple Choice Test, Demonstration of Practice, Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
